How Planning Process Works
The NDIS planning process is designed to create a personalised plan that meets the needs of individuals with disabilities. The process involves the following steps:
1. Initial Meeting
The initial step involves meeting with a planner or a local area coordinator to go over your needs and preferences. This discussion will assist in assessing your eligibility for the NDIS and will allow you to talk about the kinds of support and services you need.
3. Goal Setting
The NDIS planning process aims to help you reach your goals. With your contributions, the planner or local area coordinator will pinpoint your goals and objectives, collaborating with you to create a plan to accomplish them.
5. Plan development
Taking into account the information collected, the goals established, and the necessary support and services, the planner or local area coordinator will create a customised plan that details the support and services you need. This plan will be assessed and revised frequently to make sure it remains aligned with your needs.
7. Service provision
With your customised plan set up, you have the ability to select your service providers and oversee your funding, which allows you to have more control over the support and services you obtain.
2. Information Collecting
The planner or local area coordinator will collect details regarding your current circumstances by conducting interviews, utilising questionnaires, and examining medical reports from doctors or other healthcare providers.
They might also look over additional pertinent documents like educational records and work history.
4. Support and service provision
The planner or local area coordinator will collaborate with you to determine the support and services necessary for reaching your goals. This could involve assistive technology, home modifications, personal care, and therapy.
6. Plan approval
After the plan is created, it will be sent to the NDIS for their approval. You will get a copy of the plan that details the funding allocated for each support and service.
